A 3 month self-appointed artist residency at the Free Library of Philadelphia seeking to take residence as a guerrilla performance artist that included on-site performances at random, without permission, and within the confines of the Free Library’s programming that were open to the public. My performances were contrived from text, books I had checked out from the library and through free programs offered through the library. The selection of texts, some recommended by librarians, stemmed categorically from “performance art” and “political satire”. As performance artist, I was a blank slate, at the whims of what I was reading and experiencing.
